Dave's California Big Bass

Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina in 1974. 

Spent my younger years fishing creeks and rivers near my house catching anything that would pull back on my line.

In my teens, spent time on a 10ft jonboat in a number of local lakes.  Topwater, texas rigged worm and jigs were my go to baits.

Two years in college with a major in partying - so I changed course and entered the Air Force in 1994.

First base was Aviano AFB, Italy.  This is where my bass fishing greatly improved.  Italy, yes Italy has some very impressive bass fishing.  I join the bass club on base and had tournaments every other weekend.  My very first tournament I took third.  I was hooked. 

After 5 yeas in Italy, I headed to North Pole, Alaska - Eielson AFB.  What a change in worlds.  No bass fishing but I made up for it fishing for pike, salmon, halibut and hunting for black bears.

6 years later I worked my way to Ventura, California.  The land of big bass.  My second day in town I fished my 1st So. Cal tournament with Sean James and we took 5th for $220.  Again I was hooked.

I own and operate a 19ft Skeeter with a 200hop Yamaha.  Look for Alaska licence plates.

Other than that - if you see a redneck with a camera on his head and throwing swimbaits - well thats me.
